Darwin on your 4th birthday- We celebrate the love and peace that you have brought into our lives. You have given us great joy and have made each day, no matter how dark, a little lighter and a little easier. Through you we have met some wonderful people who are some of the dearest friends we have ever had. Know that we love you and you have a piece of our hearts that we never knew existed.

Darwin's Official Fourth Birthday Portrait
Of course Darwin spent much of the day engaged in some of his favorite activities...
June 2, 2002 started off like most every day- Darwin, not being a morning kinda guy, woke up in order to go take a nap! But Randy decided to take him for a very early morning walk to a park in the neighborhood so they could watch the sun rise over downtown San Francisco. It was a picture perfect morning- but truth be told - Darwin enjoyed his nap time a lot more!
... Like napping and catching 40 winks in the sun....
