Face it- We are "Foodies". We center our vacations around food and wine and we use any excuse to find an occasion to splurge on GREAT food. As is obvious from other pages on this web site, we have had some wonderful restaurant experience here, in France and in Italy. But The French Laundry is in a class beyond anything we had expereienced.
We went there on January 20th (it was a Christmas present from Randy to Lee) and had the culinary experience of our lives. Before we went Lee told me that he wanted to take pictures of our food. I was not quite sure what I thought of this idea- after all I didn't want to feel like the awkward tourist, yet I did want to have a wonderful keepsake of our dinner. I found out that Thomas Keller and the staff have no problem with folks taking pictures of the food. They realize that for most of us the $800.00 price tag for two is not an everyday experience.
