Wilkes Bashford's name is synonymous with style in San Francisco and he is the founder of the local haberdashery that bears his name. He has been a staunch supporter of PAWS since its inception and held the first fundraiser for the organization in 1987 at a SOMA night club. At his 2003 birthday bash- hosted by former Mayor Willie Brown- PAWS was the beneficary of the proceeds from this party netting $23,000.00!
